0B5 DL501 S-Tronic Transmission Quick Reference, Common Fault Codes and Repair Measures

Please note that this testing method is not a comprehensive test. The result is not conclusive even when all test results match. It should only be used as a quick way to troubleshot issues in your transmission. This guide can also be used as a general reference for Porsche PDK (0B5 DL501 variants, commonly used on Porsche Macan)

VFS Solenoids:

N436: Partial transmission 1 valve 4 (VFS Clutch 2 Solenoid)
N440: Partial transmission 2 valve 4 (VFS Clutch 1 Solenoid)

Environment temperature:

25C: 4.8 ohm ± 0.1 ohm

70C: 5.4 ohm ± 0.1 ohm

Clutch Oil Pressure Solenoids:

N435: Partial Transmission 1 Valve 3

N439: Partial Transmission 2 Valve 3

Environment temperature:

25C: 16 ohm ± 0.1 ohm (Generation 1 Valve Body)

70C: 18.6 ohm ± 0.1 ohm (Generation 1 Valve Body)

25C: 14.2 ohm ± 0.1 ohm (Generation 2 Valve Body)

70C: 16 ohm ± 0.1 ohm (Generation 2 Valve Body)

VBS Solenoids:

N471 Cooling Solenoid

N472 Main Pressure Solenoid

Environment temperature:

25C: 4.2 ohm ± 0.1 ohm

70C: 4.8 ohm ± 0.1 ohm

G641 Transmission Input Speed Sensor 3

Pin 4: GND

Pin 5: 7v DC in

Pin 6: Signal Out

G509 Transmission Temperature Sensor:

Environment temperature:

30C: ~ 1.13K ohm

100C: ~ 1.38K ohm

Gear Actuators (shift forks solenoids):

N433: Partial Transmission 1 Valve 1

N434: Partial Transmission 1 Valve 2

N437: Partial Transmission 2 Valve 1

N438: Partial Transmission 2 Valve 2

Environment temperature:

25C: 4.8 ohm ± 0.1 ohm

70C: 5.2 ohm ± 0.1 ohm

Clutch Apdapation Point (Kiss Point) Recommended Value Ranges (Please note that the range boundaries are not hard limits, the transmission may still work with values slightly out of bounds via self-adaptation):

If you have value(s) outside of the ranges, check the clutch. If the Clutch (Friction Plates, Steel Plates, Pistons) are good, check hydraulic pressure sensors on the TCU.
