VW 0AM / 0CW / DQ200 Common Fault Codes and Repair Measures

Please note that this guide is provided as a general reference and in no way constitutes an official recommendation. We constantly update this list to cover more Volkswagen & Audi error codes.

Some error codes may appear multiple times in this table.

Common issues when disassembling and reassembling the transmission:

  1. The Shift Forks and their Push Robs (Actuators) must be in “Neutral” positions.
  2. Push Robs (Actuators) has two versions with different lengths: 1st generation (part number 0AM325091E, Mechatronic part number 0AM325025D) is 101mm, 2nd generation (part number 0AM325091F) is 99mm. They are not interchangeable. If you have the wrong version, remove the heads from the rob and swap those two heads to your original rob.
  3. Mechatronic and the clutch must be separated using T10407 during the process.
  4. Gearbox oil: 1.7L (G 052 171); hydraulic oil (valve body oil): 1.1L (G 004 000).
  5. For new TCU, change its code to 20 after installation.
  6. To tighten the accumulator, use 20NM torque

Gear adoption (basic settings) abort codes:

These abort codes are likely to happen after a valve body change.

Error Code 6:

Reinstall the mechatronic unit. Make sure shift forks are in “Neutral” positions.

Error Code 8:

Check valve body oil;

Change battery;

Adjust K1 K2 clutches;

Change TCU code to 20;

Check TCU software;
