Please note that this guide is provided as a general reference and in no way constitutes an official recommendation. We constantly update this list to cover more Volkswagen & Audi error codes.
Some error codes may appear multiple times in this table.
Common issues when disassembling and reassembling the transmission:
- The Shift Forks and their Push Robs (Actuators) must be in “Neutral” positions.
- Push Robs (Actuators) has two versions with different lengths: 1st generation (part number 0AM325091E, Mechatronic part number 0AM325025D) is 101mm, 2nd generation (part number 0AM325091F) is 99mm. They are not interchangeable. If you have the wrong version, remove the heads from the rob and swap those two heads to your original rob.
- Mechatronic and the clutch must be separated using T10407 during the process.
- Gearbox oil: 1.7L (G 052 171); hydraulic oil (valve body oil): 1.1L (G 004 000).
- For new TCU, change its code to 20 after installation.
- Torque Specs: To tighten the accumulator, use 20NM torque; TCU bolts to the valve body: 7NM; Mechatronic to the gearbox: 10NM.
- After clutch replacement, “dual clutch torque too high” error code appears: update TCU software and perform basic settings.
- Battery voltage lower than 9.5V will fail basic settings and may cause hydraulic related error codes.

Gear adoption (basic settings) abort codes:
These abort codes are likely to happen after a valve body change.
Error Code 6:
Reinstall the mechatronic unit. Make sure shift forks are in “Neutral” positions.
Error Code 8:
Check valve body oil;
Change battery;
Adjust K1 K2 clutches;
Change TCU code to 20;
Check TCU software;
Error code 83, 84, 85, 86, 87, 88, 89:

Error Code 9, 16, 19, 20, 100, 101, 102, 103:
Check clutch. May need to adjust the clutch clearance
Abort code 100 – 103:
Failed to engage/disengage clutch (timeout: 100000ms): clutch distance/clearance greater or shorter than minimum/maximum (20mm)
Error Code 27:
Check magnets on the shift forks and reinstall mechatronic. Make sure shift forks are in “Neutral” positions.
Error Code 45:
Check the oil level.
Error Code 7:
Restart the procedures and turn your key to “on/run” position.
Mechatronic Removal & Installation Guide:
Removal of mechatronic:
DQ200 clutches are capable of self-adjusting, sudden / strong vibration may cause the clutch to lock itself. Do not remove T10407 with the mechatronic removed. Release T10407 slowly after the mechatronic is installed.
It is not recommended to add any additives to the gearbox oil and/or valve body oil.
It is not recommended to reuse gearbox oil and/or valve body oil.
Go to basic setting, channel 61, put the gear in neutral position.
If mechatronic is still unable to be removed, unlock / release the forks manually:
Lift the vehicle and remove the lower cover, release & collect the transmission gearbox oil.
Pull out G641 Sensor, insert T10407 in between valve body push robs and clutch forks, rotate the tool to separate the clutch from the mechatronic:
Remove the bolts as shown in the photo to loose the mechatronic from the gearbox:
Please inspect the shift fork magnets to make sure they are oriented correctly (if replaced), and they are all free of metal debris and contaminations:
Clean any contaminations from the magnets thoroughly (if present).
Installing a replacement mechatronic:
Remove the breathing cap from the mechatronic:
Use your original push robs (two length variants exist, use of incorrect version may immobilize the vehicle)
Confirm the contact surface between the mechatronic and transmission is flat and clean to avoid oil leak.
Put the shift forks into their neutral positions (Make sure that all selector forks are located in -N-, “in the middle”)!
Adjust 4 fork robs to 25mm:
Install the mechatronic to the transmission, screw in 7 bolts, tighten until finger-tight
Make sure clutch robs are positioned in coups of engaging levers (clutch forks)
Tight mechatronic unit diagonally to 10Nm, turn T10407 slower and remove the tool.
Insert sensor G641 into the gearbox (if control unit comes with this sensor).
Connect the transmission wiring harness to the TCU.
Install other accessories.
